I’ve expanded my packages, and reduced the minimum package price so that it’s affordable for all!

What are holiday mini sessions?

A mini version of the "Angela Bruno Creative" Photography portrait experience. Each session includes:

• 30 minutes of photography

• A cd with 25 edited images you can choose and use for your holiday cards or 2010 scrapbook

• One of two location options

What should we wear?

You know, yes – these are holiday sessions – but if you plan on displaying the photos in your home year‐round, I’d stay away from red and green. If you solely plan to use the photos for holiday cards and you like the classic Christmas colors, by all means – red and green yourself away :) I’d dress everyone in fun layers and textures, and keep everyone’s outfits coordinating. They don’t have to match… just work together.

How do I sign up ?

Sessions start at $50 and includes 1-3 people (don't forget your critters), any additional people are at a cost of $25 per person. Payment is due upfront. I can’t make exceptions, as past years I’ve had last minute cancellations and no‐shows with no time to fill those empty spots. Call me to pick your time slot and you can pay by mailing me a check. Time slot is not guaranteed until payment is received.

Which is your favorite?
My client, a very talented pastry chef will be opening her own bakery in the near future, I am so excited to be apart of this creative and delicious adventure! Her idea was to go somewhat retro, and simple so my mind went haywire thinking of all the possibilities, I designed more but the attached 6 are my favorite...I wonder what her favorite will be and what the next round of tweaks will entail...stay tuned!

Designers Comment: The color palette for these logos are eye catching. You instantly know that the company offers something decedent. Pastels often trigger the thought of icing (like on a cake or cookie), light in color, smooth and sometimes fluffy. The bold coral (orange-like) color warms up the palette and adds a extra punch. The dark brown color
automatically triggers an association to food, sweets, dark chocolate.
Since these designs are minimal, you have to rely very heavily on color to get your point across. The designs themselves are simple, which is very effective because you don’t want to overpower the product. You want to compliment the product with solid colors and very basic packaging. There is a lot of emphasis on circles in these designs, this can lend itself very handy for marketing items such as stickers or labels.

The Jonsville Team asked me to take their group portrait as well as their individual pictures for their website. What a great group, we had so much fun. On a late saturday afternoon in Del Mar, Murphy Beck the stately golden retriever and his parents took to the beach for a photo shoot. I thoroughly enjoy pet photography because those are treasured memories of a best friend and family member. People will ask me, isnt photographing one Pug the same as photographing another? No. each pet has its own unique personality and I do what I can to capture that glint in their eye.

My idea was to create a couples logo using sea horses and shells. Jessica looks astonishing in shades of blue which inspired my idea of coral and turquoise. My first half of college back in 1993 Photography was one of my classes. I moved from South Africa with only a few pieces of my art items that could be transported without getting ruined. This is one of the photos I took with a Pentax K1000 on Illford black and white, then developed it myself on our college darkroom. The picture was taken in Pietermarizburg outside the court houses. This gentleman didn't speak English so I am unsure to this day what he was waiting for.

My client Earth Care will be attending a trade show where they will be offering a free sample and education on their product. Their product "Clear the Air" is only available in PETCO so its imperative that the team at PETCO are well informed so they can assist with the sales.

I designed a postcard that will be handed out at the trade show, there is a place where a tube of the product will be adhered to the card. On the front side is information on the cat product, and on the backside is information on all other pet products.

Its a little more copy than I would have chosen so I tried to layout all elements in an easy to read format.

The Daphne's Greek Cafe location in Ontario, California is somewhat hidden from view. To utilized the blacked out window space successfully I not only branded the window with our great new photography, but added a directional message. Rather than blank windows, now the bright blues and logo should draw the guests eye from the street.

In the competitive world of Fast Casual Dining, the marketing team At Daphne's had a test run of a new promo - somewhat of a two for one deal. Concepts that flew around were 2 on tuesday, pita wednesday, seeing double and double up at Daphne's. We finally agreed on a simple statement of "2 Pitas for $5" - K.I.S.S

Window, wall and soffit posters were printed as well as bounce backs for 10 stores.

FrontLine Seminars

I met with the owners of FrontLine Seminars and they had big ideas for their website. I was fortunate to work with a well respected developer in San Diego. I created 42 pages of web design and John built and implemented all forms and code. They were a great company to work with, sending frequent emails updates, images, edits and content. Although we all worked remotely, somehow we were able to work as a close knit team. I didn't do any of their identity. Just the website.

Fascinating Client: Advanced Brain Monitoring

I recently completed another ad for Advanced Brain Monitoring in Carlsbad. They truly are the most fascinating business I have ever done design work for. Their product ARES (Apnea Risk Evaluation System) integrates physiological data acquired in-home with clinical history and anthropomorphic data to determine presence and severity of Obstructive Sleep Apnea. The ARES has been cleared for use by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), ISO 13485 certified for Europe and Canada.

I am proud to work with such an important company that helps people with their sleep apnea, memory dysfunction and alertness. I can't imagine what it would be like to live with those conditions.

Salad Dressing Redesign

Since November 2004 Daphne's Greek Cafe has had the same salad dressing bottle label design. Now with a change in the recipe to reduce fat, there has been a request for a redesign!

The brief was to keep the "Daphne's Blue" and remove the old school curly font and "rip" texture. We went with a fresh, modern, organic look instead.

A very successful little Mexican Restaurant and Tortilla factory in Encinitas CA asked me to redesign their logo without losing their authentic flair. The logos are intended for exterior signage, bags, corporate ID, Vehicle graphics and website. I am going to be re illustrating their old logo and adding some new options, as they feel the logos I designed are too far from the current logo that customers will think its new ownership and products.

Pure Beauty created a proprietary product to reduce rapid hair loss. The Marketing director had very specific requirements in mind. She wanted a box that was magnetically sealed, simple design and a window on the front to view the products. The box needed to display all information whether stood up front side or sideways. I thoroughly enjoyed this project because its not often you get to execute really simple design. I went with a Metallic ink, and corresponded with a contact in China to print and produce the boxes. The layover in customs took longer than expected but overall the CEO was very pleased with the end result.

Opening Exy

I was extremely fortunate to be asked to manage all concepts on EXY | Chic Greek Restaurant on 6th and F in the Gaslamp Quarter. I began with directing a photo shoot with photographer Marty Mann and Marketing superstar Julie Lanthier Bandy, we covered food and interior photography in one day. I also worked with George Glen Parker on designing the restaurant website. I started conceptualizing the logo which then became the exterior signage and grew into invitations, posters, corporate identity, banquet tools and menus.

Demolitian of the old LG's restaurant began with a bang. I had never designed the interior on a commercial property before and received great feedback on the final outcome. From planning out the look of the booths, to selecting awning colors, fabrics, tile, carpets, paint colors and artwork I had a great time immersing myself.

I decided on the Cameo Corian for the bar counter, and Kona laminate for the facing as I wanted a dramatic contrast in color without extending the budget. Originally I had selected wood flooring in the bar and lounge area, but realized damage and scuffing would be imminent so I worked with Young & Company to find a tile that resembled wood. Its fabulous stuff! I was going to just get sofas from West Elm but it worked out to be cheaper to have our vendor create the same sofas out of a faux leather I found through Maharam. The owner wanted floor to ceiling shear drapes, this proved to be challenging as we needed to find a fabric the reflected the light but was also within budget and flame retardant. Selecting the fabrics, carpets, wall paint and features I would have to say was the most fun, as the options were limitless.

This cup design was intended to be simple, follow the Daphne' colors but fit with both old and new concepts.

2006 Jon Renau "Wig Bible" Catalog

This was a really challenging and lengthy project project, but I really enjoyed it as there were so many variables.
I started with paper mockup designs and researched various binding options for 65 pages. In order to get the book completed in a timely manner I had to remain organized. With such a fast paced fashion forward company, new colors and styles were emerging weekly. I needed to work with the sales department to ensure the discontinued items would not accidentally make there way into the catalog. I created gird and index that would help boutique owners to find styles and colors fast in order to better assist their clients. The most challenging part of this project was having to use photographs taken in the 80's and have them not look too different from the photo shoot my colleagues and I put together just two weeks prior to design take-off. This really tested my photoshop skills and without making the images look to overdone I believe I accomplished the task successfully. I managed the production and printing in China from the US, had the book spot UV, coil bound with die cut tab separators.

Kona, Hawaii has the most unusual lighting (and winds), I loved the gardens at the Hilton Waikaloa with their scupltures overlooking the ocean. I wish I had another lens with me to better capture the statue.

Spa mailer with a great deal!

Once AngelKare Spa had been established with a logo, interior design and a website. I created mailers to be shipped out to all local businesses and homes using variable data supplied by Print Symphony in Carlsbad.

These mailers not only advertised the new wellness spa but enticed locals to come in and purchase products and/or services at a 10% discount.

Color Coordinated Marketing Folders

Premier Africa is a an exclusive travel agency with exclusive trips through Africa. They have so many options to choose from and their previous marketing folder; a single piece would be bulging with extensive details on everything that they offer.

The idea was to find out more specifically what the clients wishes are and offer them the ideal little package based on their requirements.

I design a total of 5 marketing folders, that are color coded to match the catalogs color coded pages for easy to read-easy to find information. Inside the marketing folder, the client receives a cd, brochure and itinerary. This has streamlined the look and feel of the packet, reduced mailing costs and made communication allot simpler.

10 000 pieces were printed in China on a matt cream colored card stock.

I wanted to create something small enough to fit into an envelope, but wanted to go with something a little more creative than the standard trifold. This client allowed me allot of free reign which I appreciated because there was allot of negotiating with the layout based on the amount of content. The client was very happy at the end of the day, so I was pleased to have met her expectations.

Illusions Catalog

"Illusions" is a fantastic concept and line of wigs catering to boudoir, theatrical performance, cross dressers and party goers that want something a little more realistic that the traditional "party wig". Since this was a brand new brand, we started with the logo and wig box. I loved the name and it wasn't difficult to come up with the concept of a transparent logo that you can see but only at certain angles. I toyed with the idea of iridescent inks and papers, and got quotes for the two way print that when you look one way its one image and when you turn it, its another image. I felt the end result would look "mickey mouse" so went with more of a classic understated, spot UV on black. I used the butterfly in the logo to resemble a metamorphosis, just as one goes through a change by wearing one of the Illusion wigs. Once the brand identity was approved, it was time to setup a photo shoot that would appeal to that specific clientele. There was a fine line between risque and keeping the overall look classy. We had a great team working on this brand and I believe together we pulled it off perfectly.

Jon Renau needed collateral that could educate its customer on the various ways in which to style a single wig. I enjoyed the photo shoot for this catalog because not only did we shoot on location at a gorgeous house overlooking Lake Hodges, but the the entire team had so much fun showing the versatility of these new styles. I directed the shoot and the photographer captured superior front back and side shots as well as lifestyle/editorials that we were able to use for other pieces of collateral.

I had the catalog printed with a textured cover and the first page had a classic description printed on fine tissue paper. The overall look of the catalog was very chic.

The original banner above the point of purchase rack in Ulta was a beautiful silver and white with photographic images but it did not stand out in the store. I redesigned the banner to be a little more noticeable in our corporate red.

Pacfic Villas is a condo conversion in Pacific Beach, California. This one just one of the many pieces in a large marketing project myself and my partner Reese of Print Symphony put together to sell this beach front condos. I much needed service. Mandy was so happy with her website, but for local networking she needed something more than a business card to hand out so we created a 8.5" x 11" full color brochure which did just the trick. She handed them out at meetings and it brought more traffic to her website.

After the Creative Director had got this product into large beauty Supply Stores, we needed to evaluate the design, not only in appearance but construction too, since security and ease of restocking was now important. I designed cards that mimicked the brands color - silver, black and red using new photography. I had the printers affix a velcro coin for a closure so when customers pulled the hairpiece off the car, it could be replaced without any damage to the packaging.

When I came onboard to Jon Renau, they wanted to change their branding up a bit, giving it more of a boutique feel. I design a site that had allot of white space and relied on the photographic images to tell they story. It was a catalog style site, where you could go through every wig on sale from Jon Renau then search for a boutique by zip code. I added color swatches as well as accessories.

easihair is a subsidiary of Jon Renau. They manufacturer and sell hair extensions, clip on color, hair-bands and more. A really fun company so I worked with creative director to reshoot photos, re package items and give the overall brand a hip and fun feel. The website included all items and accessories, instructional videos on how to use the items, hair color swatches, availability, in the press updates and more.
