Illusions Catalog


"Illusions" is a fantastic concept and line of wigs catering to boudoir, theatrical performance, cross dressers and party goers that want something a little more realistic that the traditional "party wig". Since this was a brand new brand, we started with the logo and wig box. I loved the name and it wasn't difficult to come up with the concept of a transparent logo that you can see but only at certain angles. I toyed with the idea of iridescent inks and papers, and got quotes for the two way print that when you look one way its one image and when you turn it, its another image. I felt the end result would look "mickey mouse" so went with more of a classic understated, spot UV on black. I used the butterfly in the logo to resemble a metamorphosis, just as one goes through a change by wearing one of the Illusion wigs. Once the brand identity was approved, it was time to setup a photo shoot that would appeal to that specific clientele. There was a fine line between risque and keeping the overall look classy. We had a great team working on this brand and I believe together we pulled it off perfectly.
